A leisurely stroll through the old town of Salzburg

We walk to the right and left of the river Salzach past the city's well-known and hidden treasures and discover what there is to discover on this day. Learn exciting facts about the known and unknown sons and daughters of Salzburg, about music that moves the world, about impregnable fortresses and (seemingly) holy archbishops and experience classical and bizarre art and culture along the way.

Benefit from special tips from a local to optimise your personal stay.

General Terms and Conditions

General terms and conditions of contract for guided tours by the commercially authorised tour guide. The legal basis is § 94 Z 21 in conjunction with § 108 Gewerbeordnung GewO. A contract is concluded under the following conditions:

1. These contractual conditions shall become valid if this has been agreed in detail between the contracting parties.

2. The agreed prices generally refer to the performance of guided tours for guests and the imparting of knowledge. The prices are quoted tax-free in accordance with the small business regulation as per § 6 Para. 1 Z 27 UStG. The contract with the guide shall only be concluded upon confirmation of the booking. If no price regulation has been agreed, a guided tour at the usual local rate shall be deemed to have been agreed.

3. Terms of payment: Unless otherwise agreed, payment shall be made in cash on the spot. Payment shall be made after the service has been rendered or immediately after the invoice has been issued, free of deductions.

4. Cancellation policy: The client does not have to pay the guide a cancellation fee if the cancellation is made in writing at least 14 days (received by the guide) before the tour date. In the event of cancellation up to 3 days before the tour, 50% of the price must be paid, thereafter the full tour fee is due. The cancellation fees stated here are lump-sum penalties which are payable irrespective of fault or any damage incurred.

5. Delay and prevention: In case of delay or prevention of the guide, either a qualified replacement will be sought or the booking will be cancelled. In any case, the guide undertakes to offer a reasonable solution. If the guest is late, the agreed fee remains due without deduction. Please contact the guide in case of delays. Without contacting the guide, the maximum waiting time is 30 minutes for private tours (group bookings) and 10 minutes for mixed tours (individual bookings). The fee will still be due. The waiting time is always included in the duration of the tour. For his part, the client commits to a waiting time of 15 minutes. The waiting time will be compensated appropriately. In the event of non-appearance of the participants, the guided tour shall be deemed to have taken place and the entire agreed fee shall be due for payment.

6. Participation in guided tours is at your own risk. No liability will be assumed. Suitable equipment and a level of physical fitness appropriate to the nature of the tour is required for walks and hikes. The guide reserves the right to make changes or adjustments due to bad weather.

7. General information on the trade: Self-employed tourist guides practise a regulated trade and provide a demanding proof of qualification by passing a qualification examination at the Chamber of Commerce. The tourist guide trade may only be exercised after registration of the trade. The trade authority is the district administrative authority responsible for the location of the business (district administrative authority or, in the case of cities with their own statutes, the municipal authorities). With the trade licence, the tourist guide acquires membership in the Economic Chamber on the basis of the Economic Chamber Act.
